“Gathering” by Alex Katz

Taking inspiration from coastal Main and NYC, Alex Katz transforms the Guggenheim’s Frank Lloyd Wright rotunda like never before. The event runs through February 20th and features Katz’s drawings, oil sketches, paintings, prints, collages, and freestanding works of art that tell the story of NYC post-war throughout the years.

“Passage” by Serge Maheu

Situated in midtown Manhattan is a new eye-catching interactive outdoor art installation. “Passage” is a glowing pedestrian tunnel composed of 20 light circles that shift color and emit different sounds as you walk through. This exhibit is completely free and runs through February 13th.

FRIENDS™ Experience

Friends, one of the most popular shows of the 1990s, still has a large occult following. The FRIENDS™ Experience in Flatiron allows you to get closer to Monica, Chandler, Rachel, Ross, Joey, and Phoebe than ever before! Every detail of the set has been perfectly recreated, and you’ll even see some real props used in the show! If you are a fan, this is a do not miss event!

Wonderland Dreams

“Make BELIEVE” by David LaChapelle

From icons of the past to stars of today, David LaChapelle offers his first solo show at the Fotografiska: “make BELIEVE.” Stroll around a walkthrough of famous faces from Andy Warhol and Tupac to Britney Spears and Kim Kardashian, don’t miss this exhibit. You’ll get a look into the mind of one of America’s most creative photographers of all time.

New York City Ballet

The New York City Ballet kicks off its winter season between January and February. Located in the David H. Koch Theater within the Lincoln Center, here you’ll be transformed into the wonderful world of The Sleeping Beauty or catch tributes to legendary choreographers.

The Winter Show

If you want to view pieces of art spanning ancient times to the art deco period and beyond, then check out the annual Winter Antiques Show. Deemed the most prestigious of all American antique shows, it takes place at the end of January in the Park Avenue Armory.

“Figures of Speech” by Virgil Abloh

Late visionary artist Virgil Abloh played a key role in art, music, fashion, design, and culture for more than ten years. “Figures of Speech” is his posthumous exhibit that dives into his never-released archive to reflect on the power of design in communication. The display creatively uses the power of quotation marks and language to transform Black cultural experiences.
